Hey dolls! Hope you all are having a great week so far. Besides the fact that my lovely child decided to keep me up half the night for no reason, I'm great! When Daddy comes home with a big box of diapers, a snack and ELLE magazine I get over it ;). Today I thought I'd do a little post on a few people who I think really influenced fashion and style throughout the years. Some you may recognize, some you most certainly will recognize and some you may not at all. So here we go, blast through the past.
Dorothy Dandridge (1950s Glamour)
Diana Ross (1960s-1980s Entertainment Elegance)
Madonna (1980s Sex Appeal)
Michael Jackson (1980s-1990s Individualized 'King of Pop' Style)
Michelle Phiefer [Scarface] (Drug Lord Couture)
Olivia de Havilland (right) [This Our Life] (1940s Everyday Glamour)
Audrey Hepburn (Movie Star Charm)
Which people or characters do you think have influenced fashion or even your personal style?
well, Madonna for sure love her style back than, and love Audrey even more now! ;)
ReplyDeleteawesome post and love the title! Diana Ross is super iconic and ranks high for me, I LOVED her silvery/white jumpsuit from the late 70s for The Boss and all of the 60s glam clothes. Michael Jackson could do NO wrong in the 80s for me, loves it. Madonna too. I'm into Audrey and Marilyn now as well for style :)
ReplyDeletethose pics look awesome!

LOVE this topic.
ReplyDeleteI think rock 'n' roll changed it all ... from Elvis to Janis to The Rolling Stones; it defined a rich bohemian life style ... you can just say Stevie Nicks and visualize a swathe of chiffon over the edge, maybe tattered.
Rocker - skinny, long haired, grungey, sexy.
Me? In my mind, sigh, somewhere between ballet and rocker grunge chic gone upscale (do love clean, fine things).
i love this post,
ReplyDeletei get influence from a lot of people so i can't name one.

Dorothy Dandridge and Audrey Hepburn are amazing - I would love to have lived in that era! Madonna looks really good in that photo too, that was definitley my favourite style period of hers.

ReplyDeleteHey interesting lady!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment on my fashion blog! I have definitely been influenced by Madonna - in Desperately Seeking Susan - and Audrey Hepburn. A sweet combo of raggedy-rock-chic and preppy cupcake fashions, with pearls and all!
