So, today was bittersweet. I spent the day with my mom & son in downtown Royal Oak.
It was a beautiful day in Michigan. Sun shining. A subtle wind. Nice 67 temperature...It was a great forecast for my agenda. However, the weather forecast didn't quite match my success forecast. I went to several boutiques looking to pull looks for a client as well as an upcoming shoot I'm styling. We saw some amazing pieces. However, none of the boutiques were willing to lend us anything due to previous damages. I thought to myself: "Why would I bring back a damaged garment without paying?" I also thought: "Instead of ruling out EVERYONE because of a past experience, why not just draw up a contract and require a deposit?". I'm a seventeen year old mother and college student. How can I afford to buy for all these looks? I'm going to have a hard enough time getting fabric for my design classes in January. Smh. It's discouraging. But by any means necessary, I will keep pushing forward! I've gotta start somewhere. So here's what I wore today!
